Capture the elegance of couture bridal designer Raishma’s signature womenswear everyday, thanks to her newly launched prêt-a-porter collection. Offering stylish Read-To-Wear outfits for all budgets, it’s the perfect opportunity to snap up designer wear that is fashionable, flattering and full of elegance.

The full range was launched at a star-studded party at her showroom in Green Street earlier this month, where as well as the chance to see the range on an exclusive catwalk, Raishma raised money for international charity the Hashoo Foundation’s 500 for 500 Appeal, for whom Raishma is a campaign ambassador.

Speaking about her gorgeous new collection, Raishma said: ‘Over the years I’ve had many requests to design an off-the-peg range that will make a woman feel as beautiful as when she wears one of my classic wedding gowns. The new spectrum of affordable tops, dresses and churidars are priced from £49-£199 and are available in multi sizes, making them accessible to everyone.’
Amongst the guests enjoying the day were Alka Makwana and Yuvna Kim from Sony TV’s Snapshot; celebrity hairdresser Dar; British Asian singing sensation Syrene; radio presenter Sharon Sharma and broadcaster and comedian Yasmeen Khan. All of whom were impressed by the fashion and the fundraising.
New British Asian singer Syrene said: ‘I came for fashion, but actually learned so much about the women in Gilgit that I want to get involved and support the campaign on a deeper level. I love the fact that with just £250 and the training they receive, these women are able to take back control of their lives and move forward in a positive way – they don’t want to be seen as victims, they are winners. ’
The 500 for 500 appeal aims to empower women living in the remotest regions of northern Pakistan by training them to become bee-keepers and thus run their own sustainable business. 10% of all sales on the day was donated to the appeal.

Raishma explains why supporting them through her business is so important to her. She said: ‘I was delighted that so many people were enthralled by the charity and what the 500 for 500 Appeal aims to do especially since Ramadan was coming up. Ramadan is about self-assessment, evaluation of your own life and priorities, and charity – what better cause than helping these incredible women.’
